In the Identity Systems I assignment, the task was to rebrand a local business of our choosing. I opted for Word Coffee, a recently established coffee company. For their logo, I integrated their company name, forming a wordmark around the letter "O". Expanding on their brand assets, I crafted a menu, disposable latte cups, coffee bags, and their shop sign.
For my methodology, I started with coffee cup sketches in Procreate, transferring them to Illustrator for experimentation with color and form. I created cutouts of a small latte cup, repeating the image to achieve a printed appearance.
I designed a menu that separates the drink categories and incorporates brand assets, such as the coffee cup sketch. I overlaid their slogan throughout the menu, with it running off the page, using one of my coffee cup sketches and overlaying the circle.
I created this animation in After Effects specifically for their website. I envisioned this animation sitting in the corner, with their navigation menu on the opposite end, highlighting their slogan, "Talk about things you care about." I designed the letterform to drip like a drink, adding a fun element to the animation.
